No Trifling With Love

Book, Music and Lyrics by

Steven W Rodgers

Based on the play by Alfred de Musset

No Trifling With love is a musical comic-tragedy, set in 19th century France, at the home of a likeable, but terribly befuddled Baron.  His plans to marry off his son, Antoine, with his niece, Camille, is off to a rocky start, and it's up to their guardians, Antoine's drunken tutor, Blazius, and Camille's governess, the overly-pious Dame Pluche (along with the Baron's best friend, the gluttonous Father Bridaine) to help rectify the matter.  It doesn't help matters any that Dame Pluche would actually prefer her protege return with her to the convent, that the  priest and tutor are constantly bikering over who gets to sit at the chair to Baron's right, and Camille's naive  younger sister, Rosette is a perfect distraction for the love-starved Antoine.

To audition, please send resume, 2 singing clips or files --videos preferred--of contrasting songs, head shot, which role you wish to audition for, and availability mid-February to late April of 2019 to [email protected]  (If you are already known to Infinity Stage, all you need is an email expressing interest, and which part you would accept).  Label email 'No Trifling Audition.'

We will be collecting a pool of singers in August and September and in the fall we will call finalists for live auditions to be held in late November/early December.  Exact dates are TBA but we are shooting for rehearsals to start in late February, with late April performance times.  Principal and supporting cast will each receive a $500 stipend  (Also needed are a young, pretty girl to play the minor role of Rosette, Camille's younger, naive sister, and 3-4 peasants, who will be paid a total stipend of $150 each).   All singers must be over 18, and non-Equity, and local to the Washington DC area (commuting distance to the Lorton/Lake Ridge areas).  Ethnicity unimportant.
